Raymond Eugene Frank, age 89, of Wall Lake, IA, formerly of Lake View, passed away on Wednesday, February 21, 2018, at Unity Point Hospital in Fort Dodge, IA.  Raymond was born on October 7, 1928, in rural Lake View, to Ernest and Angie (Johnson) Frank.  He was baptized on November 11, 1928, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer and confirmed his faith on June 20, 1943, at Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.
   Raymond was a farm boy through and through.  Living on farms near Odebolt and Lake View while he was young and attending  Coon Valley Township Country School.  On December 11, 1949, Raymond was united in marriage to the love of his life, Marjorie Elaine Hess, at Peace Lutheran Church in Ulmer, IA.  This union was blessed with 5 children: Larry, Steve, Scott, Jeff and Julie. Raymond and Marge were members of Peace Lutheran until it closed and then transferred to Zion Lutheran Church in Auburn where they were both active members. They were also members of the Zion Couples’ Club and Raymond  held many offices there.  When they moved to Lake View they transferred to Emmanuel Lutheran Church.
   Raymond farmed and was a second-generation custom corn sheller. Ernest started shelling corn around 1945, when Raymond was just a teenager. When his father decided to bid farewell to the corn shelling business in 1975, Raymond took it over, continuing the legacy until 1996.  Raymond and Marge moved to Lake View in 2007.  They were very proud to have earned the honor of Century Farm Owners. 
   Raymond loved attending his children's activities throughout school, and later on he made sure to attend his grandchildren's events as well. Raymond served on the Glidden REC Board and the Sac County FHA Board. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and brother.  He will be fondly remembered for his sense of humor (he loved to pull pranks on people). He had a pure love for mincemeat pie, we are sure he is getting his fill as we speak! Raymond and Marge often enjoyed ballroom dancing and playing cards. Family get-togethers were always a highlight and spending time with his children and grandchildren brought him great joy. Raymond, and his big laugh, will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
   Raymond was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie;  parents Ernest and Angie Frank; parents-in-law Fred and Minnie Hess; brothers: Marvin Frank and LaVern Frank; sister Marlis Bell; brother-in-law Ralph Mohr; and grandsons: Kevin Frank and Jon Frank.
   Those left to cherish many wonderful memories include his sons: Larry (Rita) Frank of Lake City, Steve (Diane) Frank of Storm Lake, Scott (Nancy) Frank of Belle Plaine and Jeff (Ellen) Frank of Auburn; daughter Julie (Del) Krusenstjerna of Apple Valley, MN; 13 grandchildren; and 9 great grandchildren.  Other survivors include his sisters-in-law: Lorraine Frank and Maurine Mohr; brother-in-law Cecil Bell; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.
