Sandy Rench, age 75, of Omaha, NE, formerly of Sac City, IA, passed away peacefully in her home on Wednesday, January 10, 2018.
Sandra Kay (Auen) Rench was born on May 13, 1942, on the farm in Herring, IA, to parents Leslie and Ruth Anna (Kaiser) Auen. She was baptized and confirmed at the Lutheran church. Sandy grew up near Wall Lake and attended country school and Lake View High School.
In 1959, Sandy married Charlie Green. This union was blessed with five children: Charlene, Stewart, Pamela, Connie, and an infant son who died shortly after birth. In 1978, Sandy married Fred Rench at the First Baptist Church in Sac City. They were married seven years before Fred’s passing in 1985.
Sandy worked hard and loved everything she did. Through her years she worked at Quinn Popcorn in Lake View, support staff for the Sac County Outreach Center, EMT for the Sac County Ambulance and finally settled in at “home” working for Loring Hospital for 35 years until retiring in 2013.
Sandy had such a loving personality, the type that could make people smile....the type that assured others almost instantly that she was indeed a kind person. She spent so much of her life caring for others, a job she did well. Sandy loved her family more than anything and devoted her heart and time to them. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, and just having fun. Going camping and fishing in Minnesota with her family was something she loved and always looked forward to. Sandy’s fur-babies were also a huge part of her life, she adored them.
After retirement, Sandy moved to Omaha, following her children. Deciding she wasn’t ready to be done working, she went to work for Synergy in Omaha as a caregiver...again, helping others. She will be sincerely missed by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Charlene Green of Omaha, NE, Stewart Green of Kansas City, MO, Pamela King of Carroll, IA, and Connie (Patrick) Radke of Omaha, NE; grandchildren: Aaron King of Sac City, IA, Rebecca (Solo) Loring, Boston, MA, Matthew Schramm (Brittany Deuker) of Ames, IA, Justin (Mackenzie) Schramm of Kirksville, MO, and Allyson Ruthie-Jane Radke of Omaha, NE; great grandchildren: Zachary Wefers of Lake View, IA, and Haley-Jo King of Sac City, IA.
