Robert Joseph Luchtel, age 83, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Tuesday, December 5, 2017, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, IA.  Bob was born on October 6, 1934, in Carroll, IA, to parents Clarence and Esther (Ludwig) Luchtel.  He attended grade school in Breda and graduated from Breda St. Bernard Catholic. 
   Bob was the owner of Luchtel Distributing Company where he delivered soft water products.   Along with being a business owner, Bob was a member of the city council for 15 years.  Bob enjoyed watching any Hawkeye sport, along with fishing and golfing.  You could always find him taking his beloved dogs for a walk.  Bob was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather and will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.  
   Left to cherish his memory are his wife Joan Luchtel of Lake View, IA; children: Cathy Luchtel of Cuyahoga Falls, OH, Gary (Ellen) Luchtel of Napa Valley, CA, Patrick (Shiva Paktel) Luchtel of San Rafael, CA, John (Stephanie) Luchtel of Houston, TX, Missy Tierney (Gary McKibben) of Altoona, IA, Justine (David) Kyker of Lincoln, NE; grandchildren: Anton and Ella Luchtel, Justine and Taylor Smith, Regan and Calvin Kyker; sister Bonnie (Gary) Kaiser of Sioux City, IA; sister-in-law Mitzi Luchtel of Milford, IA; many extended family members and friends. Robert is preceded in death by his son Robert Luchtel, parents, and brother Don Luchtel.
   A Celebration of Life will be held in the spring.
