Lynda Rae Schachtner, age 51, of Odebolt, Iowa, passed away on Monday, November 6, 2017, in Rochester, MN. Lynda was born on September 21, 1966, to parents Jerry and Sue Huss. Lynda grew up with her family in Lake View where she attended Lake View Auburn schools.  After high school, she continued her education at Iowa Great Lakes Community College.

   On September 19, 1992, Lynda married James Schachtner.  They were blessed with two children: Jacob and Emily.   They later divorced.

   Lynda made her home in Carroll, IA, raising her children. Lynda enjoyed being a wife, homemaker, and mother.  She loved to cook and color and collected Teddy Bears.  Lynda especially enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

   Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Jacob (Cassondra) Schachtner of Lake View, IA, and Emily Schachtner (Fiancé Tyler)  of Carroll, IA; grandchildren: Kyler Schachtner, Nevaeh Schachtner, and Kynlie and Lennox Gosnell; mother Sue Huss of Lake View, IA; sister Pam Brauckman of Lake View, IA; nieces: Lisa Brauckman, Krystal Brauckman; nephew Zach Brauckman; many extended family members and friends.

   Lynda was preceded in death by her father, sister Lisa Huss, and brother-in-law Jerry Brauckman.
