Flossie Wulkow, age 95 of Lytton, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 8, 2017, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake, IA. Flossie Bell Jarvis was born on November 6, 1922, to parents William and Nellie Jarvis in Sac City, IA. She was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran church. Flossie attended grade school in Sac City and graduated high school from there as well.
On December 5, 1942, Flossie married the love of her life Delmar Wulkow, in the rectory at St. Peter Lutheran Church in rural Sac City. Shortly after, Delmar was drafted into the United States Army and left to serve in World War II.
Delmar and Flossie were blessed with 2 sons, Rick and Dennis, and 1 daughter, Pat. They made their home on a farm near Lytton. Flossie was a wonderful wife, mother, and homemaker in her younger years. Later on in life, she worked at Park View Care Center as a CNA, a job she loved dearly. She enjoyed knitting, crocheting, quilting, sewing, and collecting Precious Moments figurines. Flossie always enjoyed attending her kids’ activities as they were growing up, and later on attending her grandchildrens functions. She loved a good game of bingo, especially if she came home a winner! Flossie served on the American Legion Auxiliary and also in Lutheran Ladies Aid. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Rick (Barb) Wulkow of Boone, IA, and Pat (Richard) Hogan of Carroll, IA; grandchildren Sally (Dan) Dighton, Wendy (Steve) Postel, Holly (Taylor) Anderson, Kim (Mike) Nees, Lori (Rob) Moore, Michelle (Dan) Myers, Amy (Eric) Badding, Jay Hogan, Troy Hogan, Chris (Katie) Wulkow, Jennifer Wulkow, Tyler (Kate) Wulkow, and Tony Wulkow; 32 great grandchildren; brothers Vernon Jarvis, and Verlyn (Sandy) Jarvis; sister Velma McCullough; sisters-in-law Marge Jarvis, and Dorothy Jarvis; many extended family members and friends.
Flossie was preceded in death by her parents William and Nellie, husband Delmar, son Dennis Wulkow, siblings Hazel Patterson, Bernard Jarvis, Mary Heyl, Elizabeth Cretsinger, Thelma Lietz, and William Jarvis.
