Mary Pautsch, 74, of Sac City, IA, passed away peacefully at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on Sunday, August 20, 2017. Mary Ann Penniman was born December 31, 1942, on the family farm north of Sac City, IA, the third child of Frank and Frances Penniman. As a child she loved riding her horse, Trigger. She attended country school through the 8th grade, graduating in 1961 from Lake View-Auburn. She worked various jobs throughout her life.
On October 9, 1965, she married Russ Pautsch in Auburn, IA. They had four sons, who were the pride of her life. Mary was a hard worker, who never complained. She loved Bingo, playing cards, feeding her family and gardening.
She is survived by her husband Russ and sons: Bradley (Sally) Pautsch of Sioux City, IA, Kurt (Amy) Pautsch of Mapleton, IA, Terry (Kim) Pautsch of Gowrie, IA, and Ryan (Eve) Pautsch of Denver, IA; step-daughter, Cindy (Steve) Ploen of Moville, IA; her beloved grandchildren: Joe, Mary and Reggie Pautsch; Elizabeth (Lucas) Else, Laura, Katherine, and Anna Pautsch; Melissa Pautsch; Grant, Miles and Henry Pautsch; Eric Ploen, Aaron (Kristi) Ploen, Katelynn (Jama) Farrah; and seven great-grandchildren. Other survivors include her siblings: Alta (Melvin) Zollman of Quimby, IA, Robert (Brigitta) Penniman of Delvan, WI, Annie (Larry) Ladwig of Phoenix, AZ, Mike (Susie) Penniman of Sac City, and Fred (Merlene) Penniman of Pulaski, TN; sister-in-law Jennie Pautsch; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents; siblings: Becky and Frank; nephews: Jimmy, Johnny, Michael Lee and Jesse.
