Brian Johnson, age 47, of Sac City, Iowa, peacefully passed away in his home while holding both Chanin and Kari’s hands, on Friday, August 18, 2017. Brian fought a courageous battle with cancer, one that his grandson Henry will be told of in years to come. Little Henry inspired his grandpa to fight hard and that’s exactly what Brian did.

Brian Neal Johnson was born on December 28, 1969, to parents Russell and Judith (Fischer) Johnson, in Sioux City, IA. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Brian attended grade school in Webster City and attended high school in Sac City, graduating with the class of 1988, after moving to Sac City with his family.

Brian worked as a supervisor at Hallett Materials for ten plus years, he also helped his nephew Chad with his construction business. In the mornings, Brian could be found at his parents drinking coffee with his mom and he was always up to helping his dad out around the farm. Brian loved anything and everything that had to do with racing. He also enjoyed playing golf and shooting guns. Brian always had a good time when he and girlfriend Kari attended ISU football games. He loved the Cyclones and is sure to be cheering them on from up above!

Brian’s pride and joy was and will always be his daughter Chanin and grandson Henry Brian. He had a special place in his heart for his Goddaughter Ava. The love Brian had for his family and friends was undeniable. He was always willing to help them out wherever and whenever needed. Binky’s smile, big heart, and loving ways will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
