Gary E. Roth

Gary Roth, age 62 of Wall Lake, IA, passed away Friday, May 9, 2014 at St. Anthony’s Regional Medical Center in Carroll, IA. Gary Edward Roth was born on July 7, 1951 at St. Anthony’s Hospital in Carroll, IA to parents Alvin and Betty (Wunschel) Roth. He grew up on a farm before his family moved to Wall Lake in 1967. He attended the Wall Lake schools from elementary all the way through high school graduating in 1969. He married the love of his life in Patsy Schoneboom on June 20, 1970 at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, IA. Together they were blessed to welcome two children: Nathan and Tricia. Gary was a lifetime member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake.

Gary worked hard to provide for his family and was the operator/owner of Tigger’s Bar in Odebolt, IA as well as owning and operating his own backhoe business. When he wasn’t working he enjoyed camping and spending time with his family. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his wife Patsy Jo; mother Betty; son Nathan (Sara) Roth of Wall Lake, IA; daughter Tricia (Jason) Wood of Ingalls, KS; grandchildren: Cael and Harrison Roth; brother Kevin (Sue) Roth of Sheldon, IA; sisters: Lynette (Craig) Blum of Wall Lake, IA, and Barbara Roth of Sioux City, IA; sister-in-law Ione (Curtis) Nielsen of Dawson, MN; brothers-in-law Dennis (Joyce) Schoneboom of Wyoming and Mike (Donna) Schoneboom of Polk City, IA; an aunt Betty (Chuck) Brotherton of Wall Lake, IA; uncles Eugene (late Sandra) Wunschel of Lake View, IA and Duane (Bev) Wunschel of Wall Lake, IA; uncle-in-law Jeryl Reiter of Wall Lake, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.

Gary was preceded in death by his father Alvin; brother LaRoy; brother-in-law Frederick Schoneboom; aunts Ruth (Gerald) Bengford, Eva Mae Reiter, and Hazel (Marion) Ryan; and his grandparents.
