William Douglas Rench, age 59, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on July 4, 2017, after a courageous battle with cancer, at Mercy Medical Center in Des Moines, IA. Bill was born on January 23, 1958, in Sac City to DeLoss and Melvina (Knox) Rench. He attended grade school in Sac City and he graduated from Sac City High school.
Bill was united in marriage to Barb Mayo on September 2, 1977, in Sac City where they made their home and raised their two daughters, Natalie and Abigail. He owned a salvage yard and drove truck. Bill enjoyed spending time with his family and grandson, watching movies, and listening to music. He collected and enjoyed working on cars. Bill was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Bill is survived by his wife Barb of Sac City, IA; daughters Natalie Simon of Sac City, IA, and Abigail (Mike) Zechmeister of Minneapolis, MN; grandson Arion Simon of Sac City, IA; brothers Danny (Pat) Rench of SD, Jerry (Linda) Rench of TX, Tom (Jennifer) Rench of Omaha, NE, Donnie (Joni) Rench of Norwalk, IA; sisters Jane (Dave) Bennett of Sac City, IA, Kathy Martin of Sac City, IA, and Marilyn Geery of Sac City, IA; parents-in-law Sharon and Doris Mayo of Sac City, IA; sister-in-law Sandy (Scott) Bonner of Des Moines, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents DeLoss and Melvina Rench, brother DeLoss Rench, son Jacob Rench, grand-daughter Zoey Clover Simon, nephew Adam Martin, brothers-in-law Gene Martin, Doug Geery, and Kerry Mayo.
