Avis R. Shaw, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, May 9, 2014. Born March 9, 1938 in Sac City Iowa; the daughter of the late Adelmour and Daisy (Pilloud) Shaw.
Avis received her Bachelor’s Degree in Psychology from Central CT State University and then graduated from St. Francis School of Nursing in Hartford, CT. She was an R.N. at Hartford Hospital from 1984 until retiring in 1997. She also worked for Foothills Visiting Nurses Association.
Avis loved to travel around the world to places like Africa and Egypt. She loved the Theater Arts and was an avid reader, especially American History. She spent many years living in Barkhamsted, CT until moving to The Retreat Assisted Living in Hartford in recent years.
She leaves her son Michael Krezinski Jr. and his wife Jane Tinti of Newington, CT; granddaughters Meghan, Casey and Kelly Krezinski, Stefanie and Jenna Tinti. Her daughter Liane Burke and husband Mark of Norfolk, CT; grandsons Dawson and Jon Burke; and a sister Eugenia Vogel of Iowa.
