Kim P. Toliver, age 57, of Sac City, IA passed away on Sunday, June 18, 2017, at Iowa Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA.
Kim Paulette Jarvis was born January 16, 1960, in Hinton, IA, the daughter of Lee and Nancy (Mackintosh) Jarvis. She grew up in the Hinton community, and graduated from Hinton High School in 1978. On September 1, 1979, Kim was united in marriage to her high school sweetheart, Doug Toliver, at the Methodist Church in Hinton. Together they were blessed with two daughters, Laina and Jamie.
Shortly after marrying, the couple moved to the Lytton, IA, area, and later made their home in Sac City. Kim worked for the Iowa State Bank in Sac City for over 20 years. She currently was employed at the Sac County Engineers office. Over the years, Kim was Doug’s right hand man on the farm. She was never afraid to get into a pen to move hogs, drive a tractor or collect eggs. She also kept meticulous books for the farm.
Kim was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sac City where she assisted with the Gift and Memorial funding. Kim loved to stay active. She could often be found biking, golfing, or walking every noon hour around town. Kim had an amazing group of friends and stories of their adventures and antics will be cherished for years to come. In her later years, one of her greatest joys was her grandchildren. Nothing made her happier than spending time with Jack, Leo and Quinn. Stories of their daily life when she was not with them brought her an immense amount of joy. She was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and if you asked her she would tell you that Hawk fans are the best. The family put a lot of miles on the Tahoe traveling to Iowa City and bowl game sites to root on their favorite team. Most of all, Kim’s love for her husband, children, and grandchildren was undeniable. The time she spent with them and the memories made will be cherished forever.
