     Ronald Lee Lubeck, age 66, of Marathon, IA, formerly of Sac City, IA, passed away on Friday, June 09, 2017, at the Buena Vista Regional Medical Center in Storm Lake, IA.

     Ron was born on June 25, 1950, to Wesley and Wanda (O’Toole) Lubeck in Sac City.  He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sac City and graduated from Sac City High School with the Class of 1968.  He attended Ellsworth College for two years and then Buena Vista College in Storm Lake where he graduated in 1972 with a Business Degree.

     In his younger years you could find Ronnie at Lubeck Brothers “Phillips 66” gas station or driving the delivery truck for the Lubeck Brothers Oil & Propane business on the west side of Sac City.  He helped Greg Fort as an insurance adjustor for a few years, worked at Hosteng Lumber Yard, and after moving to Marathon he worked at  First Marathon Coop.  Ron retired in 2011.

     Ron loved to joke around and tell stories, or “Ronnieisms” as some may refer to them. He enjoyed being outdoors, fishing, and working on old cars.  He loved a good game of cards or just hanging out with friends.  He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

     Survivors include his daughter Sara McVay and husband John; son Brian “Buck” Lubeck and wife Betsy; grandchildren: Jackson, Mia and Scarlett McVay; and Briggs and Bennett Lubeck; his sister Vickie Jacobsen and husband Jim; and many friends.

     Ron was preceded in death by his parents Wesley and Wanda Lubeck and sister Marilyn Lubeck.
