Jerry Wayne Brauckman, age 47, of Lake View, IA, passed away on March 7, 2017, at his home in Lake View. Jerry was born on August 2, 1969, in Carroll, IA, to Harold and Jean (DeWitt) Brauckman. He attended grade school in Glidden, IA and graduated from the Glidden-Ralston High School in 1988. Jerry went on to receive his Automotive Diesel Mechanics Degree from Iowa Lincoln Technical College.

    In 1991, Jerry met and fell in love with Pam Huss,  and on September 2, 1995 they were married at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake, IA. This union was blessed with 3 children: Krystal, Zachary, and Lisa.

     Jerry made a living out of driving trucks and working on trucks, working long hours to provide for his family.  He loved his family, and cherished his children.  His family and friends were his greatest blessings. Jerry loved working alongside his father-in-law, Jerry Huss, and was always up to helping his mother-in-law, Susie, whom he could never thank enough for taking a chance  on him. Jerry never met a stranger, he was a friend to many and believed friends were family.

     He enjoyed camping, bonfires, and fireworks.  He loved Nascar, and racing.  He was a proud member of the “Brauckman Racing Team”, and took great pride in his motorcycle.  He and Pam spent many hours riding with friends.  People will remember Jerry for his big heart,  his love of a good time and his colorful language!

He will truly be missed by all those that knew and loved him.  May he rest in peace.           

    Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife Pam; children Krystal Brauckman, Zachary Brauckman, and Lisa Brauckman all of Lake View, IA; siblings Doug (Karen) Brauckman of Carroll, IA, Brenda Brauckman of Glidden, IA, Karla Brauckman of Carroll, IA, Michelle Sinclair of Bondurant, IA, Lyla Scott of Iowa City, IA, Diane (Leon) Tiefenthaler of Breda, IA, Daryl (Janet) Brauckman of Atlantic, IA, Janelle Brauckman of Des Moines, IA, Sheila (Zack) Ramcourt of PA, Rhonda (Joe) Zahler of St. Michael, MN, Gary (Barb) Brauckman of Glidden, IA; special family Deb Straight, Kyle Taylor, “my girl Megan” Teneyck, Cody, and BJ; very special family Lynda Schachtner, and Jake and Cassie and their children Emily, Nevaeh, Kynlie and Kyler.

Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Harold and Jean Brauckman, brother-in-law Francis Scott, sisters-in-law Linda Brauckman and Lisa Renee Huss, “brother” Wild Bill Willey, and friends Brian Campbell and Richard Straight.
