Delores Lucille Weisenborn, age 84, of Sac City, IA, passed away Tuesday, December 27, 2016, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. She was born on October 3, 1932, to Clifford and Ella (Dreeszen) Nicholson in Des Moines, IA.
Delores grew up in Lake City, IA, and graduated from High School there in 1951. She was united in marriage to Don Weisenborn on December 19, 1953, in Lake City. This union was blessed with three sons: David, Steve, and Terry. Delores was a member of the United Methodist Church in Sac City, IA. She worked for the Sac Community School District as a cook for 22 years, retiring in May, 1994. She loved to travel and had been to 48 states here in the US and also traveled to Canada. Delores enjoyed attending her sons sporting events and later on, her grandsons. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan and looked forward to attending their games as well as watching them on TV.
Delores is survived by her husband Don Weisenborn of Sac City, IA; sons: David (Arline) Weisenborn of Jacksonville, FL, Steve (Nancy) Weisenborn of Carroll, IA, Terry (Jennifer) Weisenborn of Exira, IA; grandchildren: Joshua Weisenborn and Kyle Weisenborn both of Jacksonville, FL, Jeff (Lena) Weisenborn of Urbandale, IA, Jay (Amy) Weisenborn of Carroll, IA, Caleb Weisenborn of Omaha, NE, and Hayden Weisenborn of Exira, IA; great-grandchildren: Parker Weisenborn of Urbandale, IA, and Stella Tasler of Carroll, IA; brother: Dean Nicholson of Storm Lake, IA; sister: Darlene Nicholson of Lake City, IA, and many extended family members and friends.
Delores was preceded in death by her parents Clifford and Ella Nicholson; brother Don Nicholson; parents-in-law Fred and Lura Weisenborn; sisters-in-law Dorothy Nicholson and Donadee Nicholson; brothers-in-law Fred Jr., Darrell, and Cliff Weisenborn; grandson Chad Michael Weisenborn and granddaughter Oakley Ann Weisenborn.
