Verl Hutchinson, age 92, passed away at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. He was born on June 18, 1924 to Frank and Ethel (England) Hutchinson in Jolley, IA.
Verl was united in marriage to Rachel Carter on March 26, 1945. This union was blessed with five daughters: Jan, Carol, Rita, Diane and Karen. Verl and Rachel celebrated their 71st wedding anniversary together this year. The two of them spent their winters in Arizona for around 30 years.
Verl loved farming with his dad, after his father passed away, he continued doing so...he was very proud to farm the Century Farm. Verl enjoyed fishing and camping, but most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. Verl was very handy, his neighbors always came to him for help fixing their equipment. Each of his daughters knew he could fix anything. Verl was a wonderful father, husband and grandfather who will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish his memory are his wife Rachel of 71 years; daughters: Jan (Steve) Pullen, Carol (Tim) Nixon, Rita (Bob) Neuhring, Diane (Leonard) Simpson, and Karen (Dick) Shull; 11 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; sister Doris (Sharon) Mayo; and many extended friends and family members.
Verl was preceded in death by his parents; brothers Paul and Dale; sisters Evelyn and Darlene; granddaughters Jennie Jo Shull and Jenny Freese.
