Funeral Mass for Donna Tiefenthaler age 81, of Early, Iowa will be Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early. Burial will follow in the Sacred Heart Cemetery. Visitation will be Sunday, October 23, 2016 from 4-7pm at the Farber & Otteman Funeral Home in Sac City with a vigil service at 5:30pm.
Donna Arlene (Haradon) Tiefenthaler, age 81, of Early, Iowa, passed away on Friday, October 21, 2016, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City, Iowa.The daughter of Dwight and Rachel (Ellis) Haradon, Donna was born on February 26, 1935. Donna was both baptized and confirmed at the First Presbyterian Church in Early, IA, and attended school in Early as well.
Donna was united in marriage to Lester Tiefenthaler on June 28, 1954 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Early. This union was blessed with a son, Raymond, and two daughters, Nancy and Kim.
Donna worked hard as a waitress, a housekeeper at Park View Care Center and loved her role as housewife and mother. She enjoyed coffee with friends - especially Wanda Bulten, having her hair done at KRaye’s and catching up on all the news with Kathryn and the ladies, working on word searches and playing cards at card club. She was very well known for her famous potato salad and always enjoyed cooking big meals for family get togethers. Donna cherished any time she could spend with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her son Ray (Jolene) Tiefenthaler of Early, IA; two daughters: Nancy Suhr (special friend Tracy) of Early, IA and Kim (Terry) Fickett of Le Mars, IA; 7 grandchildren: Angie (Patrick) Brenner of Lytton, IA, Justin (Kami) Tiefenthaler of Early, IA, Dylan, Blake and Rachel Suhr of Early, IA and Isabella and Kensi Fickett of Le Mars, IA; 6 great-grandchildren: Austin and Mackenzie Brenner of Lytton, IA, Joseph and Jolynn Tiefenthaler of Early, IA and Peyton and Oliver Suhr of Early, IA; sister-in-law Joy Haradon of Sac City, IA and many extended family members and friends.
Proceeding Donna in death are her parents: Dwight and Rachel Haradon; husband: Lester Tiefenthaler; brother: Orlin “Scott” Haradon and a nephew: Dalin Haradon.
