     Hazel Irene Paeper, age 101, passed away peacefully on October 10, 2016, at the Cherokee Specialty Care Center in Cherokee, IA.

     Hazel was born on July 7, 1915, East of Nemaha, IA to George and Anna Marie (Kair) Robinson. She was baptized and confirmed at the United Methodist Church in Nemaha, IA and graduated from Nemaha High School.

     On December 9, 1941, Hazel and Robert Paeper were united in marriage on the family farm East of Nemaha.  They were blessed with three sons, Everett, Russell, and Gale.

     Hazel was a wonderful wife and mother, taking care of her home and family was her pride and joy.  She loved to tend her flower and vegetable gardens.  She was an accomplished seamstress and loved sewing for her family.  Hazel was a member of the Garden Club, Birthday Club, various church groups and Friends Group.  Hazel loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.  She will be dearly missed.

     Survivors include her three sons: Everett Paeper and wife Becky of Alta, IA, Russell Paeper and wife Lola of Cherokee, IA, and Gale Paeper of San Bernardino, CA; grandchildren: Jill (Jared) Peterson, Steve (Sonia) Paeper, Mark (Sue) Paeper, Dan (Jessica) Paeper, and Leslie (Brett) McCord; great-grandchildren: Kyler, Samantha, Cheyenne, Emma, Maylea, Raina, Alexxa, and Hayley; great-great grandsons: Lance and Christopher; and many extended family members.

     Hazel was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother Wayne (Mildred) Robinson, and sister-in-law Leona (Jim) Cowan.
