Tom Junior Jorgensen, age 73, of Auburn, IA, formerly of Sac City, passed away on Wednesday, September 28, 2016, at Stewart Memorial Community Hospital in Lake City, IA. Tom was born on February 8, 1943, in Cozad, Nebraska to Robert and Verna (Stacey) Jorgensen.
Tom grew up in Sac City where he attended Sac City Elementary and High School through 10th grade. He was baptized and confirmed in the Methodist Church.
On March 19, 2004, Tom was united in marriage to Brenda Niles in Emmetsburg, IA. They made their home in Auburn, IA. He worked hard to provide for his family working at Bil Mar in Storm Lake as a live turkey hanger. He had been retired for the last 12 years.
Tom loved to fish, hunt and go on motorcycle trips. One of his favorite places to go riding was to South Dakota. He would always stop at Wall, South Dakota and walk around for a few hours. He loved to tell his favorite fishing story about when he and his sister Barb caught an 18 and 22 pound catfish to anybody who would listen. His family meant the world to him. He cherished spending time with them and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Brenda; his sons: Rod Jorgensen, Thomas Jorgensen, Ronald Jorgensen, Don Burns, and Rick Burns; daughter Amanda Niles; grandchildren: Nichole Rodriquez Meza, Skyler Jorgensen, Sammanatha Jorgensen; Blake and Dillon Burns; Nicholas, Caitlin, and Breanna Niles and Tjaden Jurgens; Cara, Dillon and Brandon Jorgensen; Stacie, Christina, Amanda, Jacob, and Emily Jorgensen; great-grandchildren: Whiskey Fay Meza and Sergio Meza; Oxyanna and Beckett Gusman; his sister Barbara Clark; extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Verna and brother Ronald.
