Joyce L. Page, age 80, of Lake View, Iowa, died on Friday, September 2, 2016, at the Loring Hospital in Sac City.
Joyce LaVonne Herrig, the daughter of Gilbert and Kathryn (Schulte) Herrig, was born at rural Lake View, Iowa, on February 5, 1936. She was confirmed at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. Joyce lived her youth in the Lake View vicinity and received her education at Lake View, graduating from the Lake View High School.
On June 3, 1956, Joyce was united in marriage to Russell Page at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake and this marriage was blessed with five children: Dave, Bruce, Randy, Linda, and Diane. In addition to being a loving wife and mother, Joyce had been employed for 27 years as a certified nurse’s aide at Twilight Acres, retiring in 2003. She was very committed to her job and was a very dependable employee. Joyce enjoyed doing jigsaw puzzles and also collecting over 300 dolls. Joyce’s legacy will be the love she had for her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She faithfully attended as many of their activities as possible, no matter what the distance might be. Joyce also served her family by being a “taxi” for her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a faithful member of the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City.
Joyce’s life will always be cherished and honored by her family which include her husband: Russell of Lake View, Iowa; her children: Dave (Kelly) Page of Manning, Iowa, Bruce (Terri) Page of Lake View, Iowa, and Randy Page of Lake View, Iowa, Linda Lankford of Story City, Iowa, and Diane Page of Sac City, Iowa; 14 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; her sister Jeanette (Darrell) Susie of Kingsley, Iowa; a brother-in-law Robert Page of Sac City, Iowa; other extended family and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two grandchildren: Robert and William; brother Melvin Herrig; son-in-law Steve Lankford; brother-in-law William Miller; and sister-in-law Helen Herrig.
