Phillip Christopher Jacobsen, age 74, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Thursday, July 14, 2016, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake. Phil was born on December 25, 1941, to Harry and Mary (Loeffler) Jacobsen in Bayard, IA. He grew up in Bayard and attended grade school at Coon Rapids Catholic School. Phillip was baptized and confirmed into the Catholic faith.
On November 16, 1963, Phil was united in marriage to Charlene Wilson in Coon Rapids. This union was blessed with four children: Michael, Phillip Jr. “Pat”, Kimberly, and Bradley. They made their home in Wall Lake.
Phil was a hired farm hand for many years and also helped as a garbage man for the city of Wall Lake. He enjoyed westerns and loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather who loved his family and cherished every moment he had with them. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Charlene; children: Michael (Judith) Jacobsen of Manning, IA, Phillip Christopher Jacobsen, Jr. “Pat” of Wall Lake, IA, Kimberly (Russell) Knobbe of Carroll, IA, Bradley (Anne) Jacobsen of Wall Lake, IA; grandchildren: Kayla (Brian), Krista, Reed, Ryan, Ross, Taya (Daniel), Allaetra (Aharon), Mikasia, Neeka, Kamaya, Stephanie (Jake), Tyler, and Zachary; great-grandchildren: Logan, Mason, and Piper; brother Floyd Jacobsen of Oklahoma City, OK; sisters: Kay (Tom) Vaux of Bayard, IA, Joy Barsby of Manning, IA, Judy (Bob) Gust of Audubon, IA, Linda Whitecotton of Ankeny, IA; many nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
Phil was preceded in death by his parents; parents-in-law; twin brother Mark; brother-in-law Bob Barsby; and grand-daughter Bailey Jacobsen.
Visitation will be at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake on Sunday, July 17th from 5-8:00 p.m., with a rosary at 7:00 p.m.
Mass of the Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m., Monday, July 18th at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake with burial at the Wall Lake Cemetery. The Farber & Otteman Funeral Home of Wall Lake is in charge of arrangements.
