Robert Charles “Bob” Westcott was born on November 21, 1934 east of Nemaha, IA, to parents Cecil Charles Westcott and Alice Aileen (Dahm) Westcott. Bob was baptized, had his first communion and was confirmed at the Sacred Heart Church in Early. He graduated from the Nemaha Consolidated School with the class of four in 1953. During his high school years he played baseball for the White Caps in Storm Lake, IA, as well as playing for Father Tolan in Sac City. He held the Bo-Coon Conference single game scoring record for several years. He was a member of FFA and raised swine.
On June 4, 1955, Bob was united in marriage to Frances L. Davie at the Sacred Heart Church in Early. From this union three children were born. Timothy Charles in 1956, Lori Ann in 1958, and Jeffrey John in 1963. Along with raising a family he worked at Reis Brothers Service Station until 1958. Bob spent his adult life doing plumbing and electrical work but his passion was for farming.
In his retirement he loved to watch NASCAR and root for the Hawkeyes. Some of his favorite hobbies included spending time in the garden as well as doing woodworking projects. He loved to go for coffee and would shoot the breeze with anyone who cared to listen. He most enjoyed spending time with his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
