Donald Busch, age 91, of Lake View, IA, passed away on Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at Blackhawk Life Care Center in Lake View, IA. Donald was born on March 31, 1924, to William and Margaret (Clausen) Busch in Sac County near Lake View. He was baptized at home on May 11, 1924, and later confirmed his faith within the Lutheran church on August 22, 1937. He grew up on the farm in Lake View and attended country school in Coon Valley #9. Donald served his country by joining the US Air Force on May 14, 1943 earning the rank of Staff Sergeant in World War II. He was honorably discharged on January 3, 1946.
On February 20, 1949, Donald was united in marriage to Charlotte Berry at the St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City, IA. This union was blessed with five children: Pamela, Paula, Peggy, Paige, and Perry. Donald and his family made their home in Lake View where he farmed and later worked as a Crop Insurance Adjuster.
Donald held many offices within his church and was a part of the REC Board, VFW and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, card playing, cribbage and baseball. He was the best chicken griller and always enjoyed being around his family. He will be truly missed by those who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife Charlotte (Berry) Busch of Lake View, IA; children: Pamela Ryken of Bailey, CO, Paula Busch of Waterloo, IA, Peggy Busch of Lake View, IA, Paige (Kris) Busch of Springdale, AR, Perry (Colleen) Busch of Lakeville, MN; grandchildren: April Ivey, Tom Ivey, Matt Ryken, Erin Wright, Andrea Gordley, Aaron Busch, Devan Busch; great-granddaughter Savannah Ivey.
He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters: Irene Crippen, Mildred Johnson, Velma Berry; and brother Marvin Busch.
