Luella Mae Zimmer, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at Humboldt North Care Center in Humboldt, IA.
Luella Zimmer, the daughter of Howard Charles and Lillian Lucille (Abbott) Davis, was born in Wrenshall, MN on April 26, 1934. She attended school up until the 9th grade.
On July 14th 1951, Luella was united in marriage to John Zimmer. To this union was born three children: Pamela, Jerry, and Corey.
Luella and John managed apartments together for 5 years in Ames, IA and then she worked as an environmental aide for Mary Greely Medical Center in Ames, IA. She was a devoted mother, a very hardworking woman, and loved spending time with others, especially her family. Luella enjoyed doing crafts, gardening, was a devoted member of the First Christian Church. She enjoyed her Red Hat Ladies group along with her involvement with the VFW Auxiliary. Luella will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.
Her survivors include her children: Pamela Linn of Rockwell City, IA, Jerry (Judi) Zimmer of Kelley, IA, Corey (Stacey) Zimmer of Sutherland, IA; grandchildren: Matt Anderson, Rob Anderson, Lisa (Dave) Minor, Shelly (Travis) Renken, Joe Zimmer, Ashley (Craig) Zieman, and Dillan Zimmer; great-grandchildren: Madysen, Grace and Reagan Minor, Karter Zimmer, Saige Renken, and Avaree Anderson; sister Nelma (Red) Byriel of Lytton, IA, sister in-law Ramona Davis of Lakeville, MN; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
Luella was preceded in death by her parents; husband John “Zim” Zimmer; three sisters: Donnabell Kilpela, Maxine Cook, Burnie Mandernach; and brother Marvin Davis
