William Henrich, age 97, of Odebolt, IA, passed away Sunday, November 1, 2015, at Twilight Acres in Wall Lake, IA. William Charles Henrich Sr. was born on October 13, 1918, to parents John and Katherine (Konradi) Henrich in Odebolt, IA. He received his schooling from Odebolt High School and was a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church.
On June 30, 1942, at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Odebolt, William and Grace Gardner were united in marriage. They were blessed with four children: Renea, William Jr., Ted, and Jack. Bill worked hard as a farmer to provided for his family. He was an outdoorsy man and enjoyed fishing and trapping. He and Grace traveled throughout the country to visit children including California, Minnesota, Colorado, Hawaii and Switzerland. When younger, Grace and Bill were excellent dancers and were seen weekly at Lakewood, Cobblestone and polka dancing at Schleswig. They were a very handsome couple while “cutting the rug”. Bill loved to play cards, especially Euchre. He will be dearly missed by his children and grandchildren, extended family and all those who knew and loved him.
William will be greatly missed by his daughter Renea Bradley of Wayzata, MN; sons William Jr. of Ankeny, IA; Ted (Kathy) Henrich of Wall Lake, IA; and Jack (Marj) Henrich of Odebolt, IA; grandchildren: Dr. Jennifer Smith of Chapel Hill, NC, Veronica Stewart (Randy) of Wilmington, OH, Matthew Henrich of Nevada, IA, Justin Henrich of Iowa City, IA, Jay Henrich (Marcy) of West Point, IA, Jacob Henrich of Denver, CO, and Jonathan Henrich of Odebolt, IA; great-grandchildren: Emelia Grace Stewart and Logan James Henrich; sister Darlene Bird of Odebolt, IA; sister-in-law Phyllis Gardner of Odebolt, IA; brother-in-law Robert (Mary Ann) Gardner of Nevada, IA; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
William was preceded in death by his parents; wife Grace on December 21, 2013; brothers Howard, Virgil, Nick and John; sisters Katherine, Gertrude, and Leona; son-in-law Dr. Wayne Bradley and daughter-in-law Beverly Henrich.
