Earl Buehler

Earl Buehler, age 91, of Odebolt, IA passed away Friday, July 11, 2014 at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View, IA.

Earl Benjamin Buehler was born to parents Benjamin and Lillie (Schaefer) Buehler on January 14, 1923 in Battle Creek, IA. He grew up in the Odebolt area where he attended country school and graduated from Odebolt High School. He also served in WW II in the Navy.

Earl married the love of his life, Ivon Sorrell on November 25, 1944 in Oklahoma City, OK. They made their home in Odebolt, IA where Earl was a full time farmer and the owner and operator of Buehler Electric. Earl took great pride in his family and his grandchildren were especially important to him. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing. Earl also enjoyed farming and could be found all over the farm riding on his 4-wheeler. Earl was active on his Mac computer into his 90’s, and was quite the jokester. He will be dearly missed by all those that knew and loved him.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sons: Ben (Marilyn) Buehler of Lake View, IA, and Paul Buehler of Oklahoma City, OK; grandchildren: Chris (special friend Shelley Mancilla) Bender of Odebolt, IA, James (Jeanette) Bender of Carroll, IA, Sheila Bender of Carroll, IA, Brett (Katie) Buehler of Ankeny, IA, Erin Buehler of Urbandale, IA, and Michael Buehler of Omaha, NE; great-grandchildren: Jersey, Trey, and Talan Bender, Brady, Noah, and Levi Bender, Kenzie, Brooke, and Lexi Bender, and great-great granddaughter Jetzabel Higgins; and many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends.
