   Bernette June Austin, age 92, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Sunday, May 3, 2015, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City.  Bernette was born on November 11, 1922, to Frank and Loretta (Breon) Fawcett in Casey, IA.  She attended Crestland grade school and high school in Early, IA, and then continued her education by attending business school in Omaha, NE.

   On March 16, 1950, Bernette was united in marriage to Lewis Harold Austin.  She and Harold were blessed with four children: DeLayne, Daryl, Darlo, and Doyle.

   Bernette was a bookkeeper for Noble Manufacturing and was the secretary for Sac County Public Health.  She also kept busy being involved with the VFW Auxiliary group.

   Bernette enjoyed caring for her family and friends, crocheting, playing cards, camping and fishing.  She will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved her.

   Survivors include her children: DeLayne (Tom) Herbers of Carroll, IA, Daryl (Bobbi) Austin of Sioux City, IA, Darlo (Janet) Austin of Sac City, IA, and Doyle (Jill) Austin of Rockwell City, IA; daughter-in-law Pam (Mike) Johnson of Sioux City, IA; grandchildren: Jeremy, Eric, Elizabeth, Tracy, Thomas, Robert, Michael, Kaeli, Nicolas, Jill, Joel, Jasmine, Amber and Jenna; great-grandchildren: Dakota, Taylor, Caitlyn, Dominic, Jaedyn, Jordyn, Brenley, Kaden, Taylor, Chaquoya, Jaquan, Javontae, Jaxson, Duncan, Aiden, Camden, Madilyn, Lucian and Lily; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

   Bernette was preceded in death by her parents Frank and Loretta Fawcett; husband Lewis Harold Austin; sisters: Bernetah Calhoun and Betty Ellinger; son Damon Austin in infancy; great-granddaughter Kileigh Austin.
