Alma Henrietta Bluml, age 92, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake, on Thursday, April 30, 2015.  Alma Neppl was born on May 22, 1922, in Estherville, IA, the lovely daughter of Joseph and Anna (Bachman) Neppl.  She was baptized at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Estherville on May 25, 1922.  She grew up in Wall Lake where she graduated from Wall Lake High School in 1940.  She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Wall Lake.

   On January 8, 1948, she was united in marriage to Leonard Bluml.  They were blessed with three sons and a daughter: Lynn, Phil, Neil and Joan.  They later separated.

   Alma worked in restaurants, in the Wall Lake School system as an assistant to the secretary, and housekeeper at the church rectory for many years.  She enjoyed growing plants and having family and friends stop by to visit.  She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved her family and will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

   Those left to cherish her memory include her children: Lynn (Cindy) Bluml of Omaha, NE, Phil (Jennifer) Bluml of Papillion, NE, Neil Bluml of Wall Lake, and Joan (Dennis) Jenkins of Odebolt; grandchildren: Melissa Bluml, Jason Bluml, Joni (Mike) Harmdierks, Ellen (Seth) Christoffersen, Erin Bluml, Eric (Mindy) Jenkins, and Karen (Brian) Mentzer; great-grandchildren: Rylan Bluml, Jacob Harmdierks, Paisley and Brantley Christoffersen, Brooke and Bridget Mentzer, and McKayla Jenkins; sisters: Marcella Cook of Wall Lake, and Lillian Schroeder of Wall Lake; sisters-in-law: Elaine Schwaller of Templeton and Mary Jane Bluml of Minneapolis; brothers-in-law: Felix Bluml of Jefferson City, MO and Harold Bluml of Wichita, KS; many nieces, nephews and extended family members.

   She was preceded in death by her parents, Joe and Anna Neppl; brother Marcus (Mary Jane) Neppl; parents-in-law Ben and Mary (Meier) Bluml; sisters-in-law: Luella (LaVerdas) Reis and Karen Bluml; and brothers-in-law: Roy Cook, H.F. “Gus” Schroeder, Norman “Jack” (Lois)  Bluml and Lam “L.J.” Schwaller.
