Clive Arlo Simpson, age 99, of Sac City, IA, died August 21, 2014 at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Clive was born May 12, 1915 to William and Ella (Davis) Simpson. He was baptized at the First Baptist Church on April 17, 1949. Clive spent his childhood years on his family’s farm near Nemaha, IA. He graduated from the Nemaha High School.
Clive was united in marriage to Gertrude Mason on December 12, 1938. Their union was blessed with five children: Marcyne, Roger, Floyd, Marlyce and Mark. The couple later adopted a son Paul.
Clive worked for the Department of Transportation for 32 years. Clive could be found doing carpentry work or helping anyone who needed a helping hand.
Left to cherish his memory include his wife of 75 years; children: Marcyne and husband Royce Larsen of Alta, IA, Roger and wife Anna Simpson of Phoenix, AZ, Floyd and wife Diane Simpson of Springfield, MO, Marlyce and husband Chris Jensen of Perry, IA, Mark Simpson of Ogden, IA, and Paul and wife Michelle Simpson of Sheldon, IA; 13 grandchildren: Mylynn (Wade) Hanson of Sioux Falls, SD, Rhonda (Don) Crandell of Chandler, AZ, Frances Simpson of Austin, TX, Brenda Simpson of Phoenix, AZ, Clive W. Simpson of Phoenix, AZ, John Simpson of Phoenix, AZ, Shea (Tara) Simpson of Denver, CO, Nicole Simpson of Tucson, AZ, Dustin (Emily) Simpson of San Antonia, TX, Tina Fortney of Texas, Laura Fortney of Des Moines, IA, Tim (Tracy) Simpson of Ogden, IA, and Mark Simpson Jr. of Ogden, IA; 6 step grandchildren: Kim Larsen of Elgin, IL, Terri (Doug) Demers of Blair, NE, Cindy (Duane) Magnussen of Newell, IA, Amy (Joe) Crum of Greenbrier, AR, Matt Simpson of Springfield, MO, Scott Simpson of Springfield, MO; 18 great grandchildren; 12 step great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; and many extended family members.
