Inez Corrine Veerhusen

Inez Corrine Veerhusen, age 59, of Sac City, Iowa, passed away on January 4, 2015, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Inez was born on August 5, 1955, in Sac City, Iowa, to parents Morton and Leona (Poen) Helgerson. Inez grew up in Lake View and attended grade school and high school at Lake View-Auburn Schools.

On November 30, 1974, Inez was united in marriage at the Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake, to Richard Veerhusen. She and Richard were blessed with a daughter, Kristin. Inez had many jobs, which included working at Bil-Mar Foods in Storm Lake, being a part-time cook at the senior center in Sac City and working dispatch for Sac County and Carroll County communication centers. She retired in 2013.

Inez enjoyed playing bingo, and sewing. She loved showing her horses and ponies and attended many different events with her ponies. Most of all, she just enjoyed spending time with her husband, daughter, and grandson. Inez will be forever missed by those who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her husband Richard Lee Veerhusen of Sac City, IA; daughter Kristin (Andy) Sewell of Sac City, IA; grandson Stephen Sewell of Sac City, IA; brothers: Alvin (DeAnn) Helgerson of Lake View, IA, Lloyd (Julie) Helgerson of Carroll, IA, and Milton Helgerson and best friend Deb of Pomeroy, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family members and friends.
