Dale Royce Marsh, age 76, of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Tuesday, October 7, 2014, at the Spencer Hospital in Spencer, IA. Dale was born on February 5, 1938, to Ted and Anna (Johnson) Marsh in Mapleton, IA. He was a member of the Methodist faith. He received his education in Mapleton.
Dale served his country as a Staff Sergeant E-6 in the United States Army. On September 28, 1968, Dale was united in marriage to Judie Ann Werkmeister at Faith Lutheran Church in Early, IA. After marriage, he was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith and a member of Peace Lutheran Church in Wall Lake. They were blessed with three children: Lynette, Jolene, and Gaylen.
Farming was Dale’s life. He felt blessed to be able to tend to the needs of his family, his farm, and animals. He also did custom baling and combining for others. Dale was a loving husband, Dad, Grandpa and friend. He enjoyed coffee at the Country Store in Wall Lake, sharing stories with his friends and neighbors. He loved the outdoors, nature and wildlife, feeding birds and watching the squirrels, fishing, and tinkering around on the farm. In his earlier years of life he was involved with the Odebolt and Lake View Saddle Clubs. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife, Judie; daughters: Lynette Schweers and husband Curt of Arcadia, IA and Jolene Marsh of Denver, CO; son, Gaylen Marsh of Wall Lake, IA; three grandchildren: Alison, Katie and Robert Schweers; sister, Lorraine Weinbrandt and husband Roger of Denison, IA; brother, Everett Marsh and wife Evonne of Sioux City, IA; mother-in-law, Violet Werkmeister of Early, IA; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law: Peggy Parker and husband Robert of Cherokee, IA, Linda Werkmeister of Early, IA, Marlys Werkmeister of Sioux City, IA, James Werkmeister and wife Peggy of Denison, IA; many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
