Kevin Lee Gangelhoff, age 61, of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, November 3, 2014, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Kevin was born on August 27, 1953, to Henry Emil and Grace Mary (Larsen) Gangelhoff in Minneapolis, MN. He was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith in his youth. Kevin attended school at Hinckley, MN and continued his education as an auto mechanic at Iowa Central Community College, graduating in 1993. On May 21, 1983, Kevin was united in marriage to Jeanette Cherie Glaesman in Sacramento, CA. They lived and made their home in Sac City. He was blessed with a wonderful wife and two daughters, Rachel and Sarah.
Kevin had his own shop in Sac City, across from Bauer Built, where he did auto mechanic work for others and enjoyed fixing things. He also was a Produce Manager at Food Pride for awhile, until his health forced him to retire. On June 10, 2011, Kevin underwent a heart transplant in Iowa City, and had various health issues since then.
Kevin loved sports, and followed the Minnesota Viking’s Team, Phoenix Suns, and any other sports programs on television. If he wasn’t watching sports he would go to the garage and tinker around. But most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his wife, his daughters and grandson Reed. He loved to go camping, making many friends along the way, and playing cards. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family will be sending memorials to the UHIC Heart Transplant Support Group.
