Jim Ohden

James Henry Ohden, age 82, of Carnarvon, IA, passed away on Saturday, November 22, 2014, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. Jim was born on February 29, 1932, to Henry and Pauline (Gerdes) Ohden on a farm near Arcadia, IA. He attended country school near Carnarvon and graduated from high school in Wall Lake. Following graduation he enlisted in the United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict, earning the rank of A/1C in the 806 Supply Squadron.

He was a life-long member of the Emmanuel Presbyterian Church in Carnarvon and served as Sunday school treasurer and trustee. As a member of the American Legion and V.F.W., Jim enjoyed serving as Commander and spending time there with his friends.

Jim drove a propane truck and serviced propane tanks and vehicles for many years. He enjoyed tinkering with LP items, playing Euchre, and visiting with people.

Survivors include his brother Albert Ohden and wife Shirley of Carnarvon, IA; nephews: Neil Ohden and wife Jana of Clarinda, IA, and Craig Ohden of Wall Lake, IA; great-nieces: Hanna Ohden and Alison Bieret and husband Matt; great-nephew Seth Ohden; and many extended family members.
