Myron Harlan Glasnapp was born on October 27, 1926, to Richard and Emma (Kreft) Glasnapp at Ringsted, Iowa. Myron was baptized at St. John Lutheran Church, Fenton, Iowa. When he was five years old, he moved with his family to a farm near Yetter. He was confirmed at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church rural Sac City. Myron graduated from Lake City High School and entered the service in April 1946, serving in Japan for one year. When he returned home in August 1947, he began farming with his father and continued farming for many years.
On March 28, 1948, Myron united in marriage to Marjorie Stock in Wall Lake Iowa. They were blessed with three children, J, Michele, and Michael.
Myron was an active member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church and held various offices in the Church. He also served on local, state, and national Boards.
Myron enjoyed raising and showing quarter horses and along with his Grandson Joel, they spent many good times together going to horse shows. Myron loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, making trips with Marjorie to attend their activities whenever possible. Faith in God and family were important to Myron, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Myron fell asleep in Jesus' arms on August 17, 2026 at his home.
Myron is survived by children, J (Sue) Glasnapp of Arlington, VA, Michele (Dana) Dettmann of Sac City, and Michael Glasnapp of Lawrence, KS; grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Samuel (Angela) Glasnapp, Maya and Thomas; Kathryn (Ryan) Fairchild, Gwenyth and Julia; Camden Suggitt, Alex, Mallory and Laina; Joel (Amy) Suggitt, Nicholas (Mary) Glasnapp, Emma and Kate; Brooke Glasnapp; brother Gail (Judy) Glasnapp; and sister-in-law Marlene Glasnapp.
Myron was preceded in death by his wife, Marjorie; parents; brothers Willis, Richard, and Roger; and son-in-law Pastor Rick Suggitt.
