   Gloria Blass, age 83 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Monday, July 13, 2026, due to complications from Alzheimer’s dementia.
   Gloria Jean Summers was born on March 15, 1943, to parents Derald and Velma (Henrich) Summers in Storm Lake, IA. During her teen years, she worked at Morningside Café in Sac City, the restaurant her parents owned and operated. Gloria graduated from Sac City High School in 1961.
   On February 15, 1963, Gloria was united in marriage to James Blass in Jackson, MN.
   Gloria was preceded in death by her parents; older brother Jerry Lee (2/27/2000); husband Jim (5/10/2009); and great-grandson Easton Highland (9/4/2019).
   She is survived by her daughter, Kellie (Kent) Highland of Sac City, IA; grandson Jay (Katie) Highland of Ames, IA, and their two children Landon and Ella; granddaughter Jamie (Cody) Wells of Sac City, IA, and baby Wells due in October; several nieces, nephews and other extended family members.
