Marjorie “Marge” Albrecht, age 97 of Wall Lake, IA, passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 23, 2026, at Twilight Acres Nursing Home in Wall Lake.
Marjorie Carolyn Schroeder was born on November 4, 1928, to Frank and Louise (Aschinger) Schroeder on a farm in rural Sac County. She attended Odebolt High School and graduated with the Class of 1946.
On July 11, 1948, Marge was united in marriage to the love of her life, Dale Albrecht. Together they were blessed with four children: Cynthia, Richard, Dean, and Steven. They built a life centered on family, hard work, faith, and devotion to one another.
For more than 40 years, Marge worked alongside Dale at Albrecht Oil & Feed, where she was known as a meticulous and dedicated bookkeeper. Her strong work ethic was unmatched. She was never one to seek recognition or praise, preferring instead to quietly and faithfully do what needed to be done. Though she accomplished much throughout her life, she remained humble, gracious, and grounded.
Marge was the definition of an elegant and classy lady. She carried herself with dignity, kindness, and warmth, and she had a gift for making others feel welcome. She genuinely loved people and treasured every opportunity to gather with family and friends. Coming from a large family herself, she especially enjoyed spending time with siblings, cousins, nieces, nephews, and the many extended family members who were such an important part of her life.
Above all else, Marge was devoted to her family. She fiercely loved and protected those she cared about and was always their greatest supporter. She was a loving mother and grandmother who found immense joy in the accomplishments and activities of her family. Nothing made her happier than being surrounded by those she loved.
Marge enjoyed many hobbies throughout her life. She was an excellent cook. She loved playing bridge and golfing and brought a competitive spirit to both. In their younger years, Marge and Dale could often be found dancing together at area dance halls, creating memories that would last a lifetime.
Marge and Dale were passionate supporters of Iowa State athletics. Rarely missing a football or basketball game, they made countless trips to Ames to cheer on the Cyclones and enjoyed tailgating with friends and family. They also cherished summers spent in Okoboji and winters in Arizona following their retirement.
Faith was the cornerstone of Marge’s life. She maintained a deep and unwavering relationship with God and found comfort and strength in prayer. Even in her final days, she remained faithful, continuing to pray until the very end. Her quiet faith, loving heart, and servant’s spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was blessed with a long and beautiful life of 97 years—her legacy will live on in the hearts of those she leaves behind and in the countless lives she touched.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.” — Matthew 25:23
