   Duane Clausen, age 85 of Sac City, IA, passed away on Saturday, February 21, 2026, at Park View Rehabilitation Center in Sac City.
   Duane LeRoy Clausen was born on September 4, 1940, to parents Walter and Francis (Negless) Clausen in Cherokee, IA. Duane grew up on a farm with his family north of Ida Grove, IA.  He attended school in Ida Grove and graduated with the class of 1958.
   Duane worked in construction for all of his life, building and remodeling houses. He built his first home in 1972 as the proud owner of Duane Clausen Construction. He worked both locally and in Texas and Florida.  In 1988, Duane was united in marriage to Vicky (Carmean) Steele at the First Christian Church in Sac City. He was the proud father of three children: Lisa, Jennifer, and Brian. Duane enjoyed time spent with his family and will be missed by them and all who knew and loved him.
   He is survived by his wife Vicky of Sac City, IA; children Lisa Clausen (Craig Bathke) of Laurel, NE, Jennifer Dawson of Carlisle, IA, and Brian (Nikki) Steele of Fontanelle, IA; brother Laurence Clausen of Holstein, IA; grandchildren: Nathan Hare, Holly Larson, Hallie Jo Dawson, Maya Dawson, Baylee Steele, Kennady Steele, and Delaynee Steele; great-grandchildren: Noah and Kamden Larson, Natalee and Graham Hare; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
   Duane was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Francis Clausen; and his sister Fern Koeppen.
