Kris Miller, age 50 of Sac City and Ida Grove, IA, passed away suddenly on Thursday, September 4, 2025, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Kristina Marie Allen was born on March 27, 1975, to parents Dennis Allen and Carol (Hammond) Allen in Lake City, IA. She grew up in Sac City where she attended school. Kris was baptized as an infant in November 1975, at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Storm Lake, IA.
Throughout her life, Kris worked various positions, mainly in housekeeping or as a cook for hospitals, care centers, and hotels. She was always cleaning at home and actually enjoyed doing it. She liked things organized and tidy. Kris liked watching scary movies and was always up for a day full of shopping. She adored her cat Boots, and dog Heidi.
Kris faced many challenges in her life, struggling with the disease of alcoholism for many years. Despite the hardship, her faith in the Lord remained unshaken. It was her deep belief in God’s grace that sustained her day by day and gave her strength in her most difficult moments.
Kris was blessed with three children, Anthony, Ayden, and Avery. They were her greatest joy in life; she loved them deeply and unconditionally. They were her light and her reason to keep pressing forward, even in the darkest moments. Kris loved all of her family dearly and was so proud to be an aunt to so many beautiful nieces and nephews.
Her journey here on earth reminds us of the power of faith, the reality of human struggle, and the unbreakable bond of family. Though her passing leaves deep sorrow, her memory will live on through her children and all who knew and loved her. Her spirit now rests in the eternal peace of God’s care.
She leaves behind her three children, Anthony Allen of Storm Lake, IA, Ayden Mason and Avery Mason both of Ida Grove, IA; parents Dennis Allen (Anna) of Cedar Rapids, IA, and Carol Allen (Dale) of Ida Grove, IA; siblings Jennifer Allen of Clarence, IA, Michael Allen of AR, Ben (Amber) Allen of Ankeny, IA, Jake Allen of Storm Lake, IA, Cassidy Davidson (Michael) of Chickamauga, GA, and Casey Allen (Nicole) of Ankeny, IA; nieces and nephews: Manning, Rhett, Jonathan, Israel, David, Zachariah, Micah, Emery, Maddie, and Caden; great-aunt Lois Koster of Storm Lake, IA, whom she was especially close with; significant other James Hoffard of Sac City, IA; other extended family members and friends.
Kris was preceded in death by her grandparents, Pat Hammond, Dwaine and Merlene Allen; great-grandparents Henry and Beulah Koster, and Katherine Chinn; uncles Sonny Koster and Ed Allen.
