Brad Homer, age 33 of Sac City, IA, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, May 19, 2025, at Loring Hospital in Sac City. Bradly Allen Homer was born on November 29, 1991, to parents Bruce Jr. and Lisa (Jarvis) Homer in Sioux City, IA. He grew up in Sac City alongside his older brother, Brady. Brad graduated from East Sac County High School in 2010.
On September 5, 2024, after fourteen years together and a beautiful baby girl named Madilyn, Brad married the love of his life, Autumn Simonsen. They made their home in Sac City and Brad was self-employed/co-owner with his parents of Lisa’s Janitorial, offering janitorial services to many businesses in the area.
Brad was a man who was quite content just being home when he wasn’t working. He loved working on his yard whether it be landscaping with an abundance of river rock, planting and maintaining his garden, or making sure all the birdhouses were full of food. When in season, he always looked forward to morel mushroom hunting. Along with loving the outdoors, Brad really enjoyed hunting, especially for pheasants, and fishing, as well as riding his four-wheeler.
Brad’s interest in music was evident as he was self-taught and could play the piano and guitar quite well. Whether it was listening to or playing music, it always brought him joy and peace.
On occasion, the family would go camping, which he enjoyed but usually looked forward to getting home. Brad always helped make the family 4th of July celebration extra fun by lighting off loads of fireworks. At Christmas, he was the Bingo caller and things got pretty intense. He was a prankster for sure and making people laugh came easy to him. Brad was an avid Kansas City Chiefs fan.
Brad enjoyed playing video games, making YouTube videos, and loved watching the sky at night. Some of Madilyn’s greatest memories are the late night talks she and her dad often had. He loved his family more than anything and spending time with them was his top priority. His sudden,
unexpected passing at such a young age leaves many hearts broken. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
