Bob Shull, age 74 of Lytton, IA, passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025, at his home. Robert Miles Shull was born on July 3, 1950, to parents Robert Frank and Ruby (Penniman) Shull in Sac City. He grew up on an acreage just outside of town and attended school in Sac City. Bob graduated from Sac City High School with the class of 1969.
Bob was employed by Farmers Co-op for many years and then worked at Evapco in Lake View, IA, until retiring in 2016.
On March 25, 1989, Bob married the absolute love of his life, Rebecca Leonard. The two made their home on an acreage north of Lytton. Sadly, in August of 2023, Becky passed away after a tough fought battle with cancer. They both had such a great love for the outdoors. They were avid kayakers and enjoyed artifact hunting together. They loved their dogs and had many over the years. Bob was always up to helping Becky as she was a crafter of many things and he was right there by her side pitching in when needed. The two of them took part in many Buckskinners Rendezvous, this was a hobby of sorts where they would dress in period appropriate attire and set up tents and teepees, being as authentic as possible.
Bob was involved in the rodeo for a large portion of his life. He rode bulls, roped, and participated in team penning. He loved horseback riding and had horses from the time he was little. He also enjoyed hunting for all kinds of different animals, trapping, and fishing. He had several food plots he enjoyed maintaining on his land for all the wildlife.
He was a collector of many things but toy trains were at the top of his list. He acquired hundreds of them and decorated not only their house with them, but also his shop. He also liked collecting guns.
Bob was a one of a kind guy who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him. Rest assured he and Becky have been reunited and his heart is once again full.
Survivors include his brother, Dick (Karen) Shull of Sac City, IA; nephew Blake (Amy) Shull and daughter Kylie of Sac City, IA; close friends Crystal (Cameron) Remmick and son Keaton of Sac City, IA; Cully Magner (Mike Blum) and sons Jaxon, Wade, and Zane of Auburn, IA; two half siblings; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
Bob was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Becky; parents Robert and Ruby Shull; parents-in-law Ted and Hope Leonard; niece Jennie Jo Shull; and several half siblings.
