Dennis Ogren, age 86 of Branson, MO, formerly of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at Forsyth Care Center in Forsyth, MO. A Funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 17, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.
Dennis William Ogren was born on December 9, 1938 to Elmer and Beatrice (Yonke) Ogren in Carroll, Iowa. He grew up working alongside his father on the family farm and attended school through eighth grade.
On October 24, 1957, Dennis was united in marriage to Dixie Stargill. They later divorced in 1983. Dennis was united in marriage to Elsie (Hansen) Robinson on April 28, 1984.
Dennis was a lifelong farmer and he enjoyed being the steward of the family farm. He also worked as a carpenter until an accident forced him into retirement in 2004. In his free time, Dennis bowled in many leagues and went to Nationals for several years. He also enjoyed playing Bingo and cards. Dennis had a passion for collecting toy tractors which were displayed in the basement of his home. For the last five years, Dennis and Elsie resided in Branson, Missouri at the Grande Crown Resort. They loved the time spent there and met so many new friends. Dennis will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Left to cherish the memory of Dennis include his beloved wife, Elsie Ann (Hansen) Ogren; sons James William (fiancé Deb) Ogren and Jeffrey Elmer (Hope) Ogren; daughter Danette Renay (Fabine) Starr; stepchildren Larry Gene (Judy) Robinson, Dale Allen (Julie) Robinson, and Diana Lyn (Bob) Hayden; sister Mary Lynn (Al) Osborn; numerous grandchildren; many other extended family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Beatrice Ogren; brothers Roger and Delbert Ogren; daughters Diana M. Willey and Mary Jean Ogren; and stepson Jerry Robinson.
