Ron Siplon, age 59 of Lake View, IA, passed away on Sunday, February 16, 2025, ay MercyOne Siouxland Medical Center in Sioux City, IA. Ronald Shane Siplon was born on February 28, 1966, in Chicago, IL, to parents Gerald and Paula (Swanson) Siplon. He grew up in Mount Prospect, IL, a suburb of Chicago, and graduated from Prospect High School in 1984.

  After graduating, Ron went straight to work in the construction business. He worked as a drywall finisher for over twenty years before his body could no longer physically handle it. Ron moved to Lake View in 2005, to be close to his parents and family.

  While Ron was a private person who liked keeping to himself, anyone who got to know him knew he was a funny, caring guy. He had a love for music, especially older rock, and liked playing the guitar alone as well as with his uncles, as a hobby. He attended many concerts throughout his life and also enjoyed watching sports. Ron was an avid Chicago Cubs and Chicago Bulls fan and eventually became a fan of Iowa State. He liked traveling when he could and growing up, always looked forward to family trips to their condo in Florida. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

   Survivors include his parents, Jerry and Paula Siplon of Lake View, IA; brothers Randy Siplon of Carroll, IA, and Ryan Siplon of Chicago, IL; uncle Jim (Brigitte) Siplon of FL; his beloved dog Odie; many cousins, other extended family members and friends.
