Robbie Bowen, age 54 of Algona, IA, passed away on Monday, January 6, 2025, at UnityPoint Health-Allen Hospital in Waterloo, IA. Robbie Joe Bowen was born on April 9, 1970, to parents Robert Bowen and Viky Mason in Sac City, IA. He was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Nemaha, IA, and later lived in a group home in Orange City, IA. Robbie graduated from Rock Valley High School in Orange City.
Throughout his life, Robbie worked off and on as a part-time employee as a dishwasher amongst other odd jobs. He was a huge race fan and loved attending the local track in Algona on Thursday nights to cheer on his favorite drivers Alec and Colby Felt and Brandon Nelson. He also faithfully watched NASCAR on TV. Robbie was a Minnesota Vikings fan and rarely missed watching their games. He also enjoyed attending all the local high school home football games. If he wasn’t watching racing or football, he had wrestling on the TV as that too was something he loved watching.
Robbie had a somewhat serious demeanor about him but behind the seriousness was a kind heart willing to help anyone who needed it. He will be missed dearly by his family and all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his mother, Viky Mason of Algona, IA; father Robert (Patty) Bowen of OK; brother Jeremy Bowen of Emmetsberg, IA;  sisters Brandy Bowen of Manning, IA, and Crystal Fletcher of Carroll, IA; aunt Krissie Manteufil of Alta, IA; uncles Dennis Mason of Rockwell City, IA, and Kevin Mason of Schaller, IA; niece Melissa; other extended family members and friends. Robbie was preceded in death by his grandparents, Dean and Cedora Mason.
