Danny “Dan” Rodman, age 74 of Wall Lake, IA, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Carroll, IA. Dan was born on November 29, 1949 to parents Darwyn and Harlene (Pine) Rodman in Carroll, IA. He was a member of the Presbyterian Church in Wall Lake where he was baptized and confirmed. Dan attended Wall Lake Elementary and High School and graduated from the Wall Lake High School with the Class of 1968. Throughout his youth, he was involved in many sports including track, football, basketball and baseball. He was especially talented at track and football.  After graduation from high school, he attended Buena Vista College in Storm Lake, and while there played football on the Buena Vista Beavers football team.  Dan earned his teaching degree at Buena Vista College and graduated with the class of 1972.

   Dan started his career in teaching. He then moved into the feed sales business, where he served the area farmers. Dan also worked in banking. From that, he became self-employed as a Financial Advisor for Rodman Financial Services of Wall Lake where he flourished. Dan was honored to provide his financial services to those who needed them and for that, he was admired in the Wall Lake community. Dan was blessed with three children: Jodi, Chris and Kevin. Dan loved spending time with his children and attending their many events.

   Dan enjoyed being in the outdoors. He spent his spare time hunting pheasant and ducks. He also loved fishing.  There were many hunting and fishing trips with his family. Dan especially loved his grandchildren and spending time with them. He made many fun memories with his family and friends alike. Those memories will be what hold him in their hearts forever. He will be truly missed by all who knew and loved him.

   Those left to cherish his memory include his children, Jodi (Andy) Mortensen of Boyer, IA, Chris (Sara) Rodman) of Wall Lake, IA, and Kevin (Peg) Rodman of Norwalk, IA; grandchildren: Ethan and Mia Mortensen, Emma Mortensen, Izabelle, Sterling, and Lilly Rodman, Tarynn, Keilor, Blakesly, and McKoy Rodman; his bonus family, Dani, Carter, Briley, and Piper; his sister-in-law, Kathy Rodman; nephews and extended family.

   Dan was preceded in death by his parents, Darwyn and Harlene Rodman; brother, Mike Rodman; and nephew, Tony Rodman.
