John H. John was born on November 28, 1942, one of eighteen children to parents Herbert and Marie (Barlow) Zimmerman in Sac City. John was baptized at the United Methodist Church in Sac City alongside several of his siblings. He grew up and attended school in Sac City and then joined the United States Navy.
John married Jan Wolfe and was blessed with a daughter, Lisa. They later divorced. On October 1, 1967, John married Sandra Kay Galvin at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Sac City. This union was blessed with two sons, John and Michael. He was also a member of the Sac City Volunteer Fire Department for almost fifty years.
John enjoyed the outdoors doing things he loved like fishing, hunting, trapping, and always had a large garden. He also spent a lot of time crafting things out of wood that then got handed off to Sandy to finish up. He and Sandy were members of the gun club for many years and also bowled in a couple’s league.
John loved his family and was so extremely proud of them, especially his grandchildren. Spending time with all of them meant the world to him. He will be deeply missed by all those who knew and loved him.
