“Glen was a year ahead of me in Lytton High School, and I played sports with Glen for three years. He was a very good basketball player, and I enjoyed playing with him. I also enjoyed running around with Glen because he was always fun loving and maybe a bit ornery. He attend UNI one year and played football there, and then came back to Lytton and hauled milk in some form the remainder of his working years. Glen was a unique guy.”

“I am so sorry to hear of the loss of Glen. His family has my deepest sympathy!
I work at HyVee , and had gotten to know Glen. I have helped him pick up his groceries. He calked me different times there to help him out with something. I just talked to him Thursday the day before he passed , he wanted me to gather a few groceries, and he would pick up Friday morning. I called him late morning , wondering why he was not there. No answer, which concerned me. Then I heard Monday morning he had passed.
Glen was such a sweetheart, and always appreciative of all the help he had gotten from all of us at HyVee. I know we will all miss him not coming in and doing his shopping. I am sure he is so glad to get off that oxygen, and he is enjoying being with his love ones that have gone before him. RIP Glen❤️”

“Growing up with my Bartels cousins was a great experience. After I left Lytton to pursue adventures in various parts of the world, whenever I would come home for a visit, Glen always came to see me and let me know what was happening with his life and family. I always enjoyed our conversations and was impressed by his vast knowledge and inquiring mind. He will be greatly missed.”

“Glens house in Hanover was actually my Grandma's house when I was little, but it wasn't until I got older that I really got to know him. I spent many nights bowling at Clem's with him and also shared a pew with him at church many Sundays at Hanover. He was a great guy who was a lot of fun, and he'll be missed by many. Your family has my sympathy. ”

“I'm so sorry to hear about Glen's passing. He had such an impact on my life as a child growing up on a farm in Sac. Glen was our milk man when my did had a small dairy operation. I remember when he came to the farm and was waiting for the milk to be pumped from the tanks in the barn into the tank on the truck, he would spend time with me and my sisters. Glen would put the bridle on the horse and help the three of us get onto the horse so we could ride while he was there. Such a kind and thoughtful person. He will be missed.”

“Glen was our milk hauler when we sold milk to the Lytton and AMPi (Sanborn) creameries. He was dedicated to his job and most courteously carried out the task. While living at Lytton and raising some lambs, he would pick up extra colustrum milk to feed to them. When he bought the home near Hanover, I had many pleasant visits with him in Storm Lake.
May you find comfort and strength in God's promises as we celebrate this Easter season!”

“Glen was one of a kind. He was so much fun to be around and a big part of my high school years . Even though I'm sure I got on his nerves a few time when hanging out with Randy. I will always treasure the many " belly laughs" we shared along with the TV dinners and the lifelong nickname he gave me" McGinnis" He was a treasure and will be truly missed.”

“Glen is my uncle, my Godfather, and owned a race car that my husband drove for several years. Glen was not much younger than I am now when we raced. He would get up early, haul milk all day and then spend most of the night at the racetrack or working on the car. Even then, I was amazed at his energy. He was so good to us, and Doug and I have many amazing memories with him.
Rest in peace, Uncle Glen.”

“Glen was our milk man for our dairy farm outside of Kiron. He was always such a fun person to chat with- very warm personality and truly cared about you. As I grew up and started playing sports, he came to many of my games, even as I played into college. I will never forget his smile and how friendly he always was! ”
