   A Celebration of Life for Mark Thompson, age 64 of Nemaha, IA, will be held by the family on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 527 Erie Street in Storm Lake, IA. Mark passed away suddenly on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA.

  Mark Thompson, age 64 of Nemaha, IA, passed away suddenly on Monday, January 29, 2024, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. Mark Allen Thompson was born on January 15, 1960, to parents Gary Lee and Norma Ann (Birdsell) Thompson in Perry, IA. He attended school in Perry and graduated from Perry High School in 1978.
  On Aug 17, 1979, Mark married Linda Renee Ball in Fort Dodge, IA. This union was blessed with a son, Shawn. Mark and his family lived on an acreage just outside of Nemaha.
  Mark worked at Tyson in Storm Lake, IA, for over forty years. He initially worked in maintenance and eventually worked his way up to his current position as Assistant Engineer.
  In his free time, Mark enjoyed fishing, hunting, and golfing. He loved being outside and kept himself busy working around the acreage. Above all, he loved his family and spending time with them. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
  Survivors include his wife, Linda Thompson of Nemaha, IA; son Shawn Thompson of Sioux City, IA; siblings: LeeAnn (Phil) Reinders of Orange City, IA, Sherrie (Dennis) Conrad of Perry, IA, Anthony Bennett of Ames, IA, and Deanna (Denny) Martin of Boone, IA; loving stepmother Beverly Wild of Guthrie Center, IA; brothers-in-law Bill (Linda) Ball of Gowrie, IA, and Denny (Angie) Ball of Breda, IA; sisters-in-law Deb Beitz of Fort Dodge, IA, Kris (Dan) Konradi of Storm Lake, IA, and Pam (Lynn) Vance of Fort Dodge, IA; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
  Mark was preceded in death by his parents, Gary and Norma Thompson; and parents-in-law Donald and Patricia Ball.
 
A Celebration of Life will be held by the family on Saturday, February 10, 2024, from 2:00-7:00 p.m. at the Moose Lodge, 527 Erie Street in Storm Lake, IA.
