Harvey was blessed with four children: Michael, Jason, Justin, and Erica. On June 3, 1989, Harvey married Betty Van Beek in Boone, IA. He gained another son, Jeromy.
Harvey worked as a welder/fabricator for most of his life. Most recently he worked at Engel Agri-Sales from which he retired. He loved welding and tinkering on things in his garage. He loved his Harley Davidson and always looked forward to taking road trips with Betty around the state. The two of them rode their bikes whenever they had the chance. Harvey enjoyed fishing and camping as well. Above all, he enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. They spent many hours out in the garage working on projects with him; something that he loved just as much as they did. He will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of thirty-four years, Betty Spooner of Odebolt, IA; Sons Jason Spooner of Cherokee, IA, and Jeromy (Elizabeth) Van Beek of Garretson, SD; daughter Erica (Chris) Olson of Cherokee, IA; siblings: Chuck Spooner of Guam, Bonnie (Dave) Conley of Aurelia, IA, Bob (Alice) Spooner of Aurelia, IA, Lori Ann White of MO, and Bill (Margaret) Spooner of IN; grandchildren Justine, Drew, Destiny, Noah, Austin, Chelsey, Chad, and Quinton (Q); many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
