Rob Renze, age 49 of Lake View, IA, passed away on Sunday, October 1, 2023, at Loring Hospital in Sac City, IA. Robert Allen Renze was born on April 17, 1974, to parents Robert and Renee (Nelson) Renze at Loring Hospital in Sac City. He grew up in Wall Lake, IA, the oldest of four boys. Rob attended WLVA School and graduated with the Class of 1992. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Wall Lake where he was both baptized and confirmed.
Growing up, his parents fondly recall how smart Rob was at a very early age; he was reading at the age of three! Rob was always a talker, so much so that when his father would get calls from salesmen he didn’t have the time to talk to, he’d hand the phone to his toddler who would converse for as long as it took for the salesman to get the hint. He grew up loving to fish and camp, especially with his grandpa Sid. They always had a special bond.
In 1998, Rob Married Jamie Peters. This union was blessed with two children, Quinn and Olivia. They later divorced. The couple moved to Illinois a few years after they were married where Rob worked for R.R. Donnelley & Sons. Rob then moved back to Lake View where he began employment at Hallet Materials. He remained in Lake View other than living for a short time in Florida.
Rob was a hog breeder for several years and helped the family farming business. Most recently he owned and operated Renze Trucking. He and girlfriend Heidi Jo also flipped several houses together over the past six years and enjoyed woodworking, making intricate cutting boards. He followed the Raiders NFL team for a long time before becoming a Broncos fan thanks to his son, Quinn. He was also an avid Iowa Hawkeye fan so especially liked that his daughter Olivia chose to attend the U of I. Rob loved grilling and was quite good at it. He and Ryan enjoyed grilling for family and friends for get-togethers. He had a love for music. He always had something playing in the background and loved cranking up his tunes while in the shop. He spent a lot of time with his youngest brother Ross in the shop listening to music as it was something they both loved.
Rob loved his kids and was very proud of them. He treasured time spent with them. He was the dad/brother/uncle/friend who thought anyone he was close to needed a nickname. Rob was the fun uncle who teased and gave each and every one of his nephews and niece a hard time any time he saw them; they expected it. He had a special bond with his niece and Goddaughter, Regan. Rob was a strong, funny, and hardworking man who will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his parents, Bob and Renee Renze of Lake View, IA; children Quinn Renze of Johnston, IA, and Olivia Renze of Iowa City, IA; brothers Ryan (Jacque) Renze and Ross (Sara) Renze both of Lake View, IA; nephews Tyler, Jax, and Ryker; niece Regan; girlfriend Heidi Jo Keiner of Ute, IA; many aunts, uncles, cousins, other extended family members and friends.
