Velma Miller, age 87 of Lake View, IA, passed away on Saturday, September 9, 2023, at Black Hawk Life Care Center in Lake View.

   Velma Jean (Riedesel) Miller was born on February 23, 1936, to parents Aaron and Flossie (Glidwell) Riedesel in Prairie Grove, AR. When Velma was twelve years old they moved to Lanesboro, IA, and lived on a farm at Hobbs Access for a number of years. She graduated from Lanesboro High School with the class of 1954. Velma then worked at Ocama Foods in Carroll, IA, where she met the love of her life, Norbert (Bing) Miller. They were united in marriage on August 23, 1958, in Maryville, MO. This union was blessed with two children, Doug and Jean.

   Velma worked for many years at National Oats Popcorn in Wall Lake, IA. She enjoyed gardening, fishing, and spending time with her grandkids in her free time.

   Velma is survived by her children, Doug Miller of Lake View, IA, and Jean (Miller) Lamaak (Ron Meister) of Pomeroy, IA; grandchildren Ashley (Mitchell) Nevins of Oceanside, CA, and Justin (Katie) Lamaak of Jefferson, IA; great-grandchildren Grace Nevins, Charity Nevins, and RaeLynn Lamaak; and brother James (Claudette) Riedesel of ID.

   She was preceded in death by her parents Aaron and Flossie Riedesel; her husband Norbert (Bing) Miller; great-granddaughter Angela Lamaak; and brothers John and Joe Riedesel.
