David Hoffard, age 62 of Sac City, IA, passed away at his home on Thursday, January 12, 2023. David Alan Hoffard was born on July 8, 1960, to parents James and Janice (Gustafson) Hoffard in Sac City. He attended Crestland School in Early, where he grew up, and graduated with Crestland High School’s Class of 1980.
   On July 23, 1983, David married the love of his life, Sharon Lorrine Remmick on the Remmick family farm just north of Lake View, IA. This union was blessed with three children, Marie, David Jr., and James. Together they raised their family in Sac City where David worked at the Hoffard family junkyard.  David then worked for Bauer Built Tire & Service, now Pomp’s Tire Service, going on thirty-seven years. He was a genuine, hard-working, caring, loyal employee and human being.
   David liked to put together model cars in his spare time and collected die cast cars as well. He enjoyed watching NASCAR and cheered on Rusty Wallace and Dale Earnhardt, Sr. He liked country music as well as listening to Hippie Radio at work with John. David’s dog, Missy, was always at his side and he adored her.
   David and Sharon were truly best friends. They did everything together including making several trips to the Henry Doorly Zoo in Omaha, NE. The two of them also liked to go fishing together. They were also able to take a meaningful trip out to Oregon recently. Sharon was born there and this is where they laid her parents to rest, they had always planned to go back. So many memories were made over the forty-plus years they spent together of things they did but also of their children and grandchildren, whom David loved immensely. May the memories of the time spent with him here on earth never leave the hearts and minds of all who knew and loved him.
   Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Sharon Hoffard of Sac City, IA; children Marie Hoffard-Lile,  David Hoffard, Jr.,  and James Hoffard, all of Sac City, IA; grandchildren Reigny and Aiden Lile; siblings Kenny (Colleen) Hoffard of Spencer, IA, James Hoffard of Sac City, IA, Carol (Allan) Remmick of Auburn, IA, and Connie (Marlin) Just of Sac City, IA; many nieces, nephews, other extended family members and friends.
  David was preceded in death by his parents, James, Sr. and Janice Hoffard; and parents-in-law Elvin and Leanne Remmick.
